About

Depot Park is the City of Gainesville’s signature urban park attracting residents and visitors to enjoy nature, attend events, socialize, and spend time enjoying downtown Gainesville. Completed in the summer of 2016, Depot Park, a former railroad transportation hub and rail yard, is now a 32-acre contemporary public greenspace, managed by the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs Department.

On site of Depot Park is a renovated historic Depot Building which houses Pop-A-Top General Store, Box Car Wine & Beer Garden and an event space. The Cade Museum of Invention and Creativity is also onsite and opens early 2018. In addition, Depot Park has a custom children's play area with a splash pad and a water’s edge promenade where special events are hosted. Performances at Depot Park currently take place on the ShowMaster Mobile Sound Shell Stage (14’x 36’).

Depot Park sets the standard of excellence for a top ten mid-sized American city, recognized nationally as an innovative provider of high quality cost-effective services and provides exceptional services that enhance the quality of life for the Gainesville community.
